Alyssa was born and raised in Calgary, AB, where she grew up playing high-level soccer. After high school, she moved to the East Coast and completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours at Acadia University. Alyssa began working at Kids Physio at both the Fraser and Surrey locations before opening the South Surrey location with Nitin Ambardar. Alyssa has experience working with children of all ages and believes in a family-centred approach to therapy to help them achieve their goals and reach their absolute maximum physical potential. Ria was born and raised in Ottawa, ON. As an active kid on the soccer field, at the swimming pool or in the school gym, Ria developed a passion for movement and physical activity. Wanting to share this passion with others, Ria spent her summers teaching swimming lessons and winters teaching skating lessons to kids of all ages. It was here that her love for helping kids achieve their goals was born.
She continued to pursue this passion for human movement and teaching with a degree in Kinesiology from Queen’s University, where she became even more fascinated by the incredible abilities of the brain and body. Here she spent time volunteering in an adapted gym for community members with physical and cognitive impairments, and developed a passion for making exercise accessible to all. She then went on to complete her Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University, where she gained experience working with clients with neurological, orthopaedic and complex medical conditions. During this time, she also joined Hamilton Kids Physio Group as a volunteer where she saw just how FUN physio can be!
Ria is thrilled to be joining the Kids Physio family once again, this time in South Surrey. Strong communication, education, functional exercise and creativity are key pillars to her treatment approach, while of course making each and every session fun! Ria puts the child and their family at the centre of everything she does, and looks forward to working collaboratively with each family to help children reach their full potential.
When not at the clinic you can find Ria hiking, biking, running, skiing (on water and snow!) and exploring all that this beautiful province has to offer!

Brendan was born and raised nearby in Burnaby, B.C. where he played every sport offered to him growing up. His primary sports were soccer and lacrosse and he continues to stay involved with them today. As a young athlete, Brendan encountered his fair share of injuries himself and developed a strong relationship with his physiotherapist. However, attending physiotherapy designed for an adult can be intimidating for a child, and he wishes that something like Kids Physio would have been available for him at the time!
After completing his study in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University, Brendan studied abroad in Australia at the University of Sydney. Upon completion of his Master of Physiotherapy in 2017, Brendan stayed in Australia and worked as a pediatric physiotherapist at a private practice helping kids achieve their movement and activity based goals with fun and engaging physiotherapy sessions. This helped Brendan interact with kids of a variety of ages and potential diagnoses (e.g. cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, global developmental delay, autism, etc.). Brendan developed a strong interest in a child’s gait and the ways to address common abnormal walking patterns like toe walking. This led him to taking a number of courses focused on these topics and his confidence in the area has grown significantly. Returning to his home country means that Brendan can bring all he learned overseas to help kids here in Canada.
Outside of the clinic, Brendan enjoys playing sports, reading a good book, and spending time with his young pup, Beau.

Megan was raised in Richmond, BC where she grew up playing a variety of sports and activities including soccer, softball, gymnastics, swimming, and field hockey. Her passion for working with children began while she was a gymnastic and soccer coach. It was there she learned fun and innovative ways to teach functional skills.
These experiences led her to study Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia where she graduated head of her class. Here, she volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House, UBC’s Accessibility Services and the BC Wheelchair Basketball Society. With a strong desire to further understand the human body and functional movement, Megan went on to the University of Toronto to complete her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy.
